Roman Catholics believe:
Mass is unique to the Catholic faith. It is a traditional rite that involves an Entrance song, greeting, confession (Penitential Act) song, prayer, readings, silence (Homily) the creed etc and the Eucharist, followed by song, prayer and blessing. The word Communion is used for the sacramental elements themselves. The Catholic's Mass, which culminates in celebration of the sacrament of the Eucharist (the bread and wine) is the central act of worship of the Roman Church. The church believes the bread and wine turns into the actual body and blood of the Lord before they partake of it.
What does the Catholic church teach?

Adventists believe:
Adventists believe Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper and they celebrate it as He told them to do so, in remembrance of Him. Unfermented bread and grape juice used in the communion service are symbols of Christ’s broken body and His blood that was shed on Calvary’s cross for the forgiveness of sin. As Jesus washed all the His disciples feet, so Adventists prior to partaking of the bread and “wine” also practice the ordinance of foot washing.
Luke 22:18,19 And He took the bread, and gave thanks and brake it, and gave unto them saying, “This is My body which is given for you; this do in remembrance of Me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you.”
John 13:12 -15. So after He had washed their feet and had taken His garments, and was set down again, He said unto them. Know ye what I have done to you? Ye call Me Master and Lord and ye say well, for so I am. If I then your Lord and Master have washed you feet, ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example that ye should do as I have done to you.
