How did God form man?
Genesis 2:7. “The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being”
Genesis 2:17. but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Genesis 3:3. but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”
Genesis 3:4. “The serpent said to the woman, ‘You will not surely die’ NOTE: Do we believe Satan or God?
What happens when a person dies?
Ecclesiastes 12:7. “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it”
Job 27:3 KJV “The body without the spirit is dead” (James 2:26). “The spirit of God is in my nostrils”
Do souls die?
Ezekiel 18:20 KJV. “The soul that sins, it shall die”.
Revelation 16:3 KJV. “Every living soul died in the sea”
Do good people go to heaven when they die?
John 5:28-29 “All who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth”
Acts 2:29, 34. “David … is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. … For David did not ascend into the heavens”
Job 17:13 KJV “If I wait, the grave is mine house”
How much does one know or comprehend after death?
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, 10. “The living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished; nevermore will they have a share in anything done under the sun. … There is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going”
Psalm 115:17. “The dead do not praise the Lord”
PSA 115:17: The dead do not praise the Lord, Nor any who go down into silence.
PSA 146:4. His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish.
But can’t the dead communicate with the living, and aren’t they aware of what the living are doing?
Job 14:12. “Man lies down and does not rise. Till the heavens are no more, they will not awake nor be roused from their sleep. …
Job 14:21. His sons come to honour, and he does not know it; they are brought low, and he does not perceive it”
ECC 9:5-6: For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing, And they have no more reward, For the memory of them is forgotten.

Jesus called the unconscious state of the dead “sleep” in John 11:11–14. How long will they sleep?

2 Peter 3:10. “The day of the Lord will come … in which the heavens will pass away”
What happens to the righteous dead at the second coming of Christ?
Revelation 22:12. “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work”
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. “The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout. … And the dead in Christ will rise. … And thus we shall always be with the Lord”
1 Corinthians 15:51–53. We shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye … and the dead will be raised incorruptible. … For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality".
Back in Moses’ day, what did God command should be done to people who taught that the dead were alive?
Leviticus 20:27. “A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones”
Will the righteous people who are raised in the resurrection ever die again?
Luke 20:35-36. “Those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead … nor can they die anymore”
John 5:28-29: Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.
Revelation 21:4. “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away”

Matthew 9:23: When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, 24 He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him.
Matthew 27:52: and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
Mark 5:39. When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.”
Luke 8:52: Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.” 53 And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead.
John 11:11-15: These things He said, and after that He said to them, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.”12 Then His disciples said, “Lord, if he sleeps he will get well.” 13 However, Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about taking rest in sleep.14 Then Jesus said to them plainly, “Lazarus is dead. 15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, that you may believe. Nevertheless let us go to him.”
Acts 7:60: Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Acts 13:36: “For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption;
Ephesians 5:14: Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”
1 Corinthians 15:18: Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! 18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
1 Corinthians 15:51: Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:20: But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.

1 Thessalonians 5:8: For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.
2 Peter 3:4: and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”
1 Tim 1:17: Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
1 Tim 6:16: who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
