
The Ten Commandments: R. W. Dale
1. The Sabbath was founded on a specific Divine command. We can plead no such command for the obligation to observe Sunday. Pg 100
2. The Sabbath was to observed on a particular day which was determined by Divine authority; the Jews were commanded to keep 'holy' the seventh day of the week. Among us the seventh is a common day, and it is the first day of the week that we celebrate as a religious festival.
3. The purpose of the Sabbath was to commemorate the manifestation of God's power in the creation of all things, and of His goodness in redeeming the Jews from their misery in Egypt.
